dwp | design worldwide partnership, a leading international design company, has received an honourable mention for its outstanding design of UOB Plaza Bangkok in the workplace category at the 2022 BLT Built Design Awards, recognising the firm’s noteworthy achievements in creating innovative and functional spaces that reflect their client values and culture.
UOB Thailand tasked dwp with designing its 30-storey building, UOB Plaza Bangkok, which posed a complex design challenge due to its distinctive architecture. Dwp’s approach was based on the “discovery of Thailand” concept, which successfully integrated design characteristics from the country’s four regions. Additionally, the approach incorporated unique graphic patterns from local artists who had previously participated in the UOB Painting of the Year Competition.
In a departure from the norm of banking and finance spaces, dwp injected the area with natural light and removed confines between departments, creating a collaborative environment. With a thoughtfully arranged layout, the space flows effortlessly, establishing several workspaces that inspire staff productivity, health and well-being from secluded focus booths, a relaxing bistro, and a massage room to a spacious gym.
The executive levels and Penthouse proudly embody Thailand’s peak, offering a striking design with a commanding presence. The innovative and visionary design deservedly earned this workplace recognition, garnering an honourable mention at the distinguished 2022 BLT Built Design Award.
